What's New

Our Paul Vecsei, a prolific and talented shooter has just returned from British Columbia, Canada with some exceptional images of Coho Salmon.  Taken in a clear tributary of the legendary Fraser River system, Paul's photos show the striking colors of Coho Salmon on a late season spawning run.  See them all here in our Coho Salmon gallery.  Paul also encountered some giant White Sturgeon.  You can view all of Paul's images in the Paul Vecsei gallery here.

Recently, I was able to get a few interesting new photos of juvenile Lake Sturgeon.  (Not something you see every day.)  They were taken in Legend Lake in Keshena, WI where Menominee tribal fish managers have been stocking them for the  past decade or so.  These fingerlings were all between 8 and 14 inches long.  For these and other lake sturgeon photos, check out our lake sturgeon gallery here.

Photographer Isaac Szabo has taken some remarkable images of small stream fish of the Ozarks.  While most shooters busy themselves looking for large game fish, Isaac has beautifully captured some of the small darter, minnows and shiners that make their homes in the clear rivers and streams of Northern Arkansas.  Isaac's newest images of these colorful and important stream fish are some of the best ever taken of these fish in their natural habitat.  You can view all of Isaac's images in our Isaac Szabo Gallery here.

One of our top-guns, photographer Paul Vecsei has had a busy summer so far.  He's just returned from an exciting trip to the Canadian Arctic and the Pacific Northwest and has brought back the world's best pictures of lake trout ever taken underwater in their natural habitat.  These are amazing images.  See them all here in our Lake Trout gallery.  Paul also shot some remarkable photos of Dolly Varden Trout and spawning Sockeye Salmon.  You can view all of Paul's images in the Paul Vecsei gallery here

I'm proud to announce that Engbretson Underwater Photography is now representing selected images of photographer Paul Vecsei.  Paul's underwater images of Lake Whitefish, Lake Trout and Cisco are without a doubt the finest images of these species ever taken in their natural habitat.  Paul has a fisheries science background which makes him uniquely able to understand the behaviors and habitat requirements of these fish and beautifully capture their magnificence in his stunning photos.  Whitefish and Cisco are two of the most difficult species of freshwater fish to photograph in their natural environment but Paul has done a masterful job.  His images of Arctic Grayling, Chum Salmon, Cisco, Lake Whitefish and many others are now available for commercial and editorial licensing on this site.
